In Desi hip-hop, the beef between Badshah and Honey Singh is quite well-known. After Badshah had publicly apologised to Honey Singh and called to end the feud between them, the rapper has finally received an answer.
On 16 July, Honey Singh appeared in an interview on CNN-News 18 for the promotion of his upcoming album “Glory” and its new song that is to be released as NFT. He also talked about his recent performance at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding, his lifestyle and previous addiction and many other things.
In this interview, the host Vishal Chatkara asked Honey Singh if he wanted to restore his friendship with other celebrities, specifically Badshah. To this, the rapper replied, “If two people are fighting amongst one another, it is called a fight. I don’t know why people consider this a fight. One person has said a lot about me for years and then he apologised on stage. What can I say about him? I have nothing to do with him. I don’t even consider him anywhere.” “Things would have been different if he was my friend. But he was never my friend.”
This has come off as a shock to many people in the Desi hip-hop scene as Honey Singh and Badshah were previously members of Mafia Mundeer, along with many other well-known rappers. The rappers have been taking a jab at one another from time to time over the years, directly and indirectly. So, Honey Singh’s denying that he was even friends with Badshah has come off as a sudden and unseen move. Many Honey Singh fans also consider this a power move, wherein Honey Singh’s indifference gives him the upper hand. “”I don’t consider him” Coldest moment in the history of IHH”, “When Honey Singh said “I never consider him” & “He was never my friend” for Badshah ”.
While we are not sure what the future holds, we can speculate that this decade-long beef might soon come to an end, or will it?
